Guabiju is a really great fruit.
Very juicy and sweet with a slight acidity and exoticism.
This tree from the Myrtaceae family tolerates more cold than many others in this family.
It can tolerate short-term frost down to -4 degrees Celsius.
The leaves are relatively hard and the tree does not grow very large.
Therefore it is well suited for pot culture.
In Argentina it bears fruit from the fifth year. Our tree in Germany bloomed from the sixth year onwards.
Even though this tree can tolerate it quite cold, in Europe I would overwinter it at at least 5 to 10 degrees due to the long winters.
Die Guabiju ist eine wirklich tolle Frucht.
Sehr saftig und süß mit leichter Säure und Exotik.
Dieser Baum aus der Familie der Myrtaceae verträgt mehr Kälte als viele andere dieser Familie.
Er verträgt kurzfristig Frost bis -4 Grad Celsius.
Die Blätter sind relativ hart und der Baum wird nicht sehr groß.
Daher ist er gut für eine Topfkultur geeignet.
In Argentinien fruchtet er ab dem fünften Jahr. Unser Baum in Deutschland hat ab dem sechsten Jahr geblüht.
Auch wenn dieser Baum es ziemlich kalt verträgt, würde ich ihn in Europa aufgrund der langen Winter bei mindestens 5 bis 10 Grad überwintern.
