Unfortunately, the fruits of this previously unknown Plinia were discovered a little too late.
The fruits were already overripe, but the seeds are still fresh and viable.
When ripe, these fruits are "vinaceous" – wine-red.
Look at the leaves, a rare form for Plinia.
The taste of the fruits could still be tasted with the tongue and was absolutely reminiscent of Jaboticaba.
This new species was found in the Mata Atlantica of Bahia, Brazil.
Care and maintenance are the same as for normal Jaboticaba.
Please overwinter this plant at a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius.
