The Syagrus werdermannii is one of the rarest palms on earth.
It is found only in the municipality of Caetite in the Brazilian state of Bahia.
There it grows in the savannas and survives long dry periods.
This small palm grows to about 60 cm tall and produces edible, sweet fruits that taste like pequi.
It requires a bright location during the growing season.
In winter, it should be overwintered in a cool, bright place at a temperature of at least 10°C.
Die Syagrus werdermannii gehört zu den seltensten Palmen dieser Erde.
Sie kommt nur in der Gemeinde Caetite des brasilianischen Bundestaates Bahia vor.
Dort wächst sie in den Savannen und übersteht längere Trockenzeiten.
Diese kleine Palme wird ca. 60cm groß und produziert essbare, süße Früchte die geschmacklich auch an Pequi erinnern.
Sie benötigt einen hellen Standort während der Wachstumsphase.
Im Winter sollte sie kühl und hell bei mindestens 10°C überwintert werden.
