This extraordinary tree was discovered in the Itacaré region of the state of Bahia, an area known for its high biodiversity.
The tree reaches a height of about 6 meters and is distinguished by its rapid growth and strikingly long, narrow leaves,
which give it an elegant and tropical appearance.
This jaboticaba bears particularly large fruits that impress with their size and high pulp content.
The pulp is sweet, pleasantly aromatic, and delicious eaten fresh.
The large seed also makes the fruit botanically interesting – a striking characteristic within the genus Plinia.
Plinia longiacuminata is a tropical plant and requires warm conditions.
It should be overwintered at a minimum of 10°C – ideally in a bright, protected indoor space or conservatory with high humidity.
