This extraordinary species is currently assigned to the genus Guapurium, which is botanically closely related to the Plinias.
The Guapurium sp. de Rama is an extreme rarity among collectors and is currently found in very few private collections.
A special feature of this wild species is its compact growth habit, as the trees naturally remain small in their homeland due to local weather conditions.
Despite the small size of the tree, the yield is impressive, with the fruits ripening in dense clusters directly along the branches ("de Rama").
In terms of flavor, it is a revelation and easily rivals the best Jaboticabas.
The fruits are sugar-sweet, possess an exquisite aroma, and offer an incomparable tropical taste experience.
Thanks to its genetic predisposition for compact growth, it is the ideal choice for permanent container cultivation.
To ensure its health, the plant should be overwintered in a bright location at a minimum temperature of 10°C (50°F).
