The plant has a few brown leaf tips from the winter, which we cut off.
Some leaves also have rubbing marks because this plant was grown outdoors.
This plant will double in size over the next two years.
The first flowers can be expected in the sixth or seventh year.
This tree originates from Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais in Brazil and grows to about 3 meters tall.
Of course, it can be pruned and kept smaller without any problems.
The yellow fruits are very tasty and reminiscent of apricots with an exotic touch.
They are about 2.5 cm in diameter.
We have already eaten these fruits ourselves and can confirm this.
This plant is self-fertile and bears fruit on its own.
Mature specimens suffer frost damage from -6 degrees Celsius (21 degrees Fahrenheit).
This means that while this plant can tolerate short-term frost, it is still best overwintered at a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit).

Das bedeutet, dass diese Pflanze zwar kurzfristig Frost verträgt aber dennoch besser bei mindestens 10 Grad überwintert werden sollte.
