Quararibea penduliflora (syn. Matisia penduliflora) is a rare tropical tree in the mallow family (Malvaceae).
The fruits of Quararibea species are generally known for their juicy pulp.
The taste is often described as sweet and very pleasant. Comparable species such as Q. cordata taste like a mixture of honeydew melon, mango, and apricot.
The pulp is soft, juicy, and often somewhat fibrous or jelly-like.
The flowers and fruits often appear directly on the trunk or on strong branches (cauliflory).
Since the plant originates from the humid tropical biome, it requires warmth and humidity.
Location & Light: A bright location with plenty of indirect light or full sun is ideal.
The plant needs consistently warm conditions, ideally between 15°C and 30°C.
It is extremely sensitive to frost; temperatures below 10°C should be avoided.
Substrate: Use a nutrient-rich, well-draining substrate (e.g., high-quality potting soil with perlite or sand).
The root ball must be kept consistently moist, but not waterlogged (risk of root rot).

Die Früchte von Quararibea-Arten sind allgemein für ihr saftiges Fruchtfleisch bekannt. 
Der Geschmack wird oft als süß und sehr angenehm beschrieben. Vergleichbare Arten wie Q. cordata schmecken nach einer Mischung aus Honigmelone, Mango und Aprikose.
Das Fruchtfleisch ist weich, saftig und oft etwas faserig oder geleeartig.
Die Blüten und Früchte erscheinen oft direkt am Stamm oder an starken Ästen (Kauliflorie). 
Da die Pflanze aus dem feuchten tropischen Biom stammt, stellt sie Ansprüche an Wärme und Feuchtigkeit. 
Standort & Licht: Ideal ist ein heller Standort mit viel indirektem Licht oder voller Sonne.
Die Pflanze benötigt konstant warme Bedingungen, idealerweise zwischen 15 °C und 30 °C. 
Sie ist extrem frostempfindlich, Temperaturen unter 10 °C sollten vermieden werden.
Substrat: Es sollte ein nährstoffreiches, gut durchlässiges Substrat verwendet werden (z. B. Hochwertige Kübelpflanzenerde mit Perlite oder Sand).
Der Wurzelballen muss konstant feucht gehalten werden, darf aber keine Staunässe aufweisen (Gefahr von Wurzelfäule).
