Pradosia is a rare genus in the Sapotaceae family.
This tree was found in the Amazon region of the Brazilian state of Rondônia, on the border with Bolivia.
The fruit is very sweet and can be eaten fresh straight from the hand.
Simply press the peel until it opens, just like with a lychee, and then suck the sweet pulp from the seed.
This tree produces flowers and fruits cauliflorously (directly on the trunk) like the jaboticaba.
In the first year, grow it in partial shade and avoid waterlogging.
Please overwinter this plant at a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius.
Pradosia ist eine seltene Gattung aus der Sapotenfamilie.
Gefunden wurde dieser Baum im Amazonas des brasilianischen Bundesstaates Rondonia, an der Grenze zu Bolivien.
Diese Frucht ist sehr süß und lässt sich sehr gut frisch aus der Hand essen.
Einfach wie bei einer Litchi die Schale drücken bis sie aufspringt und dann das süße Fruchtfleisch vom Samen ablutschen.
Dieser Baum produziert Blüten und Früchte kauliflor (direkt am Stamm) wie die Jaboticaba.
Im ersten Jahr halbschattig ziehen und Staunässe vermeiden.
