Annona rensoniana is a rare tree species belonging to the Annonaceae family, native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, from central Mexico to Colombia.
The tree is characterized by large, glossy, dark green leaves and inconspicuous, small, white flowers.
The edible fruits are small to medium-sized, round in shape, and have a textured, yellow-green skin.
The flesh is known for its sweetness, juiciness, and strong aroma and is often compared in taste to that of Annona squamosa (sugar apple).
The plant thrives in warm, humid climates with well-drained soils, typically at altitudes between 300 and 1500 meters in the humid tropical biome.
It is moderately drought-tolerant but requires a minimum temperature of approximately 10 degrees Celsius and must be protected from frost.
The uses of Annona rensoniana primarily include the consumption of the fresh fruit, which is also processed into juices, jams, and ice cream.
In addition, the plant is cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens and used in traditional medicine to treat fever, pain, and inflammation.

Annona rensoniana ist eine seltene Baumart aus der Familie der Annonengewächse (Annonaceae), die ursprünglich in den tropischen und subtropischen Regionen Mittel- und Südamerikas, von Zentralmexiko bis Kolumbien, beheimatet ist.
Der Baum ist durch große, glänzende, dunkelgrüne Blätter und unauffällige, kleine, weiße Blüten gekennzeichnet.
Die essbaren Früchte sind klein bis mittelgroß, rundlich geformt und besitzen eine strukturierte, gelb-grüne Außenhaut. 
Das Fruchtfleisch ist für seine Süße, Saftigkeit und sein starkes Aroma bekannt und wird oft geschmacklich mit dem einer Annona squamosa (Zuckerapfel) verglichen.
Die Pflanze gedeiht in warmen, feuchten Klimazonen mit gut durchlässigen Böden, typischerweise in Höhenlagen zwischen 300 und 1500 Metern im feuchten tropischen Biom. 
Sie ist mäßig trockenheitstolerant, benötigt jedoch eine Mindesttemperatur von etwa 10 Grad Celsius und muss vor Frost geschützt werden.
Die Verwendung von Annona rensoniana umfasst in erster Linie den Verzehr der frischen Früchte, die auch zu Säften, Marmelade und Eiscreme verarbeitet werden. 
Darüber hinaus wird die Pflanze als Zierpflanze in Gärten kultiviert und in der traditionellen Medizin zur Behandlung von Fieber, Schmerzen und Entzündungen eingesetzt.
