It was discovered in the Restinga region of São João da Barra, in the northern part of the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro.
The soil there consists of a mixture of sandy earth, typical of the Restinga areas—a region in Brazil known as a transition zone between the coast and the mainland.
The fruits are juicy, sweet, with a hint of acidity, and very aromatic.
This Eugenia prefers a warm climate and should be overwintered at a minimum of 10°C (50°F) to remain healthy.
The plant requires well-drained soil and can thrive in sunny or partially shaded locations.
