The fruits of Plinia edulis are known for their unique, sweet-and-sour flavor, often described as a blend of mango and peach.
The ripe fruit, which grows on the trunk of the tree, changes color from green to a bright orange-yellow.
Growing the Cambucá requires some patience, as the tree is slow-growing and can take 5 to 7 years to produce its first fruit.
Young plants prefer partial shade, while older trees thrive better and produce more fruit in full sun.
Plinia edulis is a tropical to subtropical plant.
